>Welcome Bags are becoming very popular to welcome your guests staying at area hotels. It's a great treat to register at the hotel and receive your Welcome Bag from the bride and groom. It's an extra special touch for your guests. These usually include a welcome note from the couple, an itinerary of the wedding day/weekend, noted area attractions, water, savory or sweet treats (such as biscotti or chocolates) to munch. The treats can be something akin to the area, for example an apple treat would be a nice touch for Hudson Valley guests. Tip on welcome bags: If people leave hotels in charge of distributing welcome bags, they should doublecheck to make sure this is done on the big day or big weekend. At my daughter's wedding, the hotel had guests from several weddings on the same weekend and were very busy. We discovered many of our guests did not get bags upon arrival. Hated to see all treats wasted. The hotel made up for it by making sure those guests got the bags at checkout.
